My name is John Brohan. I am testing this path to get help through photographs. This is a real case, seen June 1 2011 near Tabora. I will forward any information or other help to the relevant clinician.

Dear colleague,  
I understand that you are testing this way to get more advice for the management of this patient. Unfortunately, the pictures are very much out of focus, so it is hard to say whether this is umbilical cord infection (which would need immediate parenteral treatment with ampicillin and gentamicin at least) or whether the neonate may suffer even from omphalocele (which would need immediate surgical and medical care). So if you have some more information or better pictures, it would aid in giving a better advice. In general, I feel that basic information like age, sex, short history and signs and symptoms would be more helpful than just pictures.
